Qirā’āt 101

Creating the safe bridge between Tajweed & Qirā’āt.

This course takes you through the practical side of implementing the 10 Qirā’āt, without having to memorise exceptions and other complexities.

Have you…

studied Tajweed and want to move on to the next level but not sure about studying Qirā’āt?
never heard that the Qur’ān can be recited in many different ways?

By the end you will…

learn who the 10 Qurra (reciters) are.
learn what differences exist between different readings.
find out for sure if you want to pursue Qirā’āt (InshaAllah yes!) .
recite in all 10 Qirā’āt.

If you want these, then this course is for you!

Why this course was created?

Qari Armaan set up the Qirā’āt 101 course for free during Ramadan 2021 in an effort to introduce the everyday Muslim to Qirā’āt. It was run as a 15 minute class, everyday. Alḥamdulillāh, the feedback was overwhelmingly positive and so the Qirā’āt 101 course was expanded on and made into weekly lessons instead.
An astonishing number of Muslims have no idea there are different ways to recite the Qur’ān and this course was set up as an introductory course. The other reason was to bridge the gap between Tajweed & Qirā’āt.

“OK, I have studied a lot of Tajweed and can recite pretty well, do I really want to spend so much money on learning the Qirā’āt?”

Tajweed is a branch of Qirā’āt. If you haven’t studied Qirā’āt, you will not be able to fully appreciate Tajweed.
For those who have learnt Tajweed and are looking for that next step but aren’t sure if the Qirā’āt are for you or would like to ease your way in, Qirā’āt 101 is for you!

An amazing teacher and the course is so well structured and very well paced. You really get a great overview about the Qirā’āt and the rules. It is a good way to gauge if you would like to study the Qir’at further. I highly recommend the course.

I highly recommend this course to people. It was a perfect primer before taking a Qirā’āt course. It makes understanding the theory way easier and allows you to get practice applying the Qirā’āt rules. Very good Al-Hamdu lillah.

I found it to be a great bridge course between Tajweed and Qirā’āt. As someone who hated memorizing all the cool Arabic tajweed terms, I appreciated a primer/bridge that allowed me to enter a full Qirā’āt course with confidence.

As someone who didn’t have much knowledge about Qirā’āt, I found this course very beneficial before starting Qirā’āt Ijāzah. It covers a lot of information and rules for a short course and gives you a head start for Qirā’āt.

I think I did the best thing to take this course with Sheikh Armaan between Tajweed and Qirā’āt. I would find myself lost without this class today. It really gave an easy intro to the deep understanding of the Qirā’āt we studied in the Kubra course.

The classes were interactive with the awesome teacher Sheikh Armaan. I believe, like me, other Qirā’āt students who took this class were benefitted. The introduction to Qirā’āt by Sheikh Armaan made me interested to learn more about it and I ended up taking a Qirā’āt class today.

The classes were based on the intro to background of information and rules of variant reading. It made the Qirā’āt theory way easier to understand. We practiced applying Qirā’āt rules after each class ended. It really helped me to get prepared for Qirā’āt class. If you are planning to study Qirā’āt next, I recommend that you take this class with Sheikh Armaan.

Took this course between Tajweed and Qirā’āt and found it to be very beneficial. It was very well structured and informative. It introduced the student to just enough background info/rules to become more interested in the subject, but not so much so that one gets overwhelmed by the topic as a beginner.

It explained why the rest of our [Qirā’āt] batch was smart when I was struggling, but it worked out eventually.
